Everywhere we look budgets are being slashed and government grants are disappearing. Nonprofits are struggling to survive. Yet, everyday the number of people in need of services increases. There is no shortage of qualified social workers ready and able to go to work, but the jobs are not there despite the need for services. Are we going to continue to allow this to happen? What can social workers do to fight the defunding of needed social programs? What is the best way for us to band together to make a difference?
I really am interested in hearing your ideas so please comment.
